Hi Bryn...from what you are saying, I suggest you get a new gyn doctor!...a pap test does not take this long to get results!!...it usually takes no longer than 2 weeks....secondly, he found out you had fibroid tumors & didn't offer you immediate options...he said come back in a couple of weeks.....that's not normal...and when you did return, he didn't remember what you had discussed during your last visit...to me, these are all red flags....also, the only endometrial ablation that has good success with fibroids is the Hydrothermal Ablation.....the Thermachoice balloon ablation is CONTRAINDICATED with a fibroid uterus.....AND, an ablation only necessitates IV sedation, not a general anesthetic....if it were me, I'd shop for a new gyn doctor......I had a thermachoice balloon ablation about 2yrs. ago, & to this date I have no monthly bleeding...but I do not have fibroids....and I had IV sedation....I would be leary of this doctor....depending on how large your fibroids are & if they are inside or outside of the uterus, there are many different treatment options available to you....hope this helps....Kim, RN, BSN, gyn team leader, surgical nurse.
