Are digital mammograms better?

According to this Newsweek article, since 2000 hospitals and clinics have felt pressured to spend millions replacing their film-mammography ssytems with digital units because patients put stock in digital being better. But a five-year-study sponsored by the National Cancer Institute shows no evidence of digital mammograms improving breast cancer detection in women over 65--and yet medicare pays health-care providers more to have them.

I always think the contrast of public opinion versus reality is interesting. What do you guys think? Would you rather have a digital mammogram versus a film one?
