Heavy Menstrual Bleeding

Hi Avileskim76...there are other less invasive procedures you can have performed before resorting to a hysterectomy...first, the birth control pill should control that heavy bleeding...secondly, there is a procedure called Thermachoice Balloon Ablation which is done under IV sedation as an outpatient procedure...you'd go home the same day...I had that procedure done & I just barely now have a drop of blood during my monthly cycle...I don't even buy tampons anymore...just 1 minipad, IF THAT, is used once a month...I encourage you to check into this procedure...you sound like the perfect candidate.....Kim C.

I had a tubal ligation performed June of 2005, after the birth of my 4th child. Since then my periods have been very heavy. My cramps have increased along with some neasea and fatigue during these 6-7 days. Prior to my pregnancy I used the pill in which my periods were under control. Now my flow is so heavy during days 2 and 3 when I switch from a lying or sitting position to standing I just fastly bleed through/over my pad. Tampons are definately out of the question!! They do not hold the immediate flow. Does this make any sense to you? I also pass either clots or more uetrine lining post tubal ligation. Is this normal?
