FIBROIDS

I am 33 years old, married with a child who is 12 years old.

My menstrual cycle has been normal til in February, 2007 when i had periods twice in a space of 1 week. All along my periods were done every 28th day, usually 4-5 days. In March 2007 there was nothing. In May 2007 I did a preg. test which came out negative, the scan also showed everythin was okay and my GYNO put me on safeplan a contraceptive pill for 3 months. He said it was hormonal imbalance. My period did not come. In November 2007 I was put on progesterone for 14 days, still no period.

Last month, April 2008 i had to do another scan which showed i have intramural fibroid measuring 2.17cm x 2.64cm, but ovaries and everything else is okay. Could this be the reason for my absent periods? It has been over a year without me having periods, how would i have the period back so that i conceive again? Is there any medication I can take to shrink the fibroid?

The other thing is my tummy feels so bloated. Sometimes sex with my hubby becomes painful. Am i in danger, or is it normal to live without periods at my age? Please help.
