Hi Sehuff,
I am a gyn surgical nurse. You didn't say what type of ablation you had. Was it the Thermachoice procedure, hydrothermal ablation, or resectoscope? These procedures are wonderful, the Thermachoice being the best. With the Thermachoice procedure, the surgeon MUST either suction currettage or sharp currettage for 3 FULL minutes before inserting the Thermachoice catheter. If this isn't done (and believe me, some docs try to skip this part) results are less than satisfactory. Also, these procedures don't last forever, although you should get alot more than 3yrs. out of it. It's like having a facelift, years down the road you will need another one. Check with your doc to see if he performed a currettage before the ablation. Hope this helped a little....Kim, RN
