To jandra regarding heavy bleeding

I am also in my early 40s. I am having a hysterectomy next week. I have been bleeding almost constantly since March. I have been on birth control pills for about 2 1/2 years, they worked for a while. I just can't stand it any more. I have a large fibroid and now am experiencing back pain as well. The doctor mentioned a procedure called "Novasure" that sounded great-but doesn't work if you have a fibroid. Anyone else who is reading this and fibroids aren't an issue for you, ask your doctor about this. You should be finished having children if you want this procedure. I'll let you know how the hysterectomy goes and if I'm happy with my decision. Debbie
