Help me please
I am 30 years old, I have four children and don't want to have more. I was told I had a uterine fibroid almost 6 years ago and was told because of where it was placed(through the uterine wall) I would not be able to carry a pregnancy to full term. Since then I have had 3 of my four children. My periods are now to the point of excruciating. I am having fourteen day cycles but my bleeding lasts 5 days. The first 3 days I am completely unable to function due to the horrible pain and heavy bleeding. My gyn told me I needed a hyst. found out a few days before surgery via the internet that he planned to remove my cervix too. When I told him I didn't want my cervix taken he refused to do a supracervical hysterectomy, ( for no reason other than he believes there is no reason to keep it), I cancelled the surgery. I am very confussed and scared about all of this. I am not sure what options I have here. I know there are no guarantees in life but I would just like to find a site that has a complete list of options and all side effects of those options, wether or not the side effects seem to be valid to Doctors. Let me decide what treatment is best based on what side effects are possible and what I am willing to live with. Please, can anyone help me find information about this horribly painful situation I find myself in month after month???!!! Please help me feel like I am being heard and somewhere I can find some help. I am loosing hope.
