Menorrhagia + Fibroids + Menopause I am 53 1/2 yrs. old and started peri-menopause over 10 yrs. ago. About 2 yrs. ago I discovered I had fibroids (several egg-size + some smaller) I have extremely heavy bleeding but am otherwise in good health. My question is how much bleeding is unacceptable, and how much longer should I wait before insisting on surgery? My dr's have NOT suggested surgery. Also, is there a reasonable way to determine how much blood I am losing each period?
