Dr. gave no options
When I was 25 I gave birth to my 4th son. I had a tubal ligation done so that if I decided to reverse it and have more children I could. Four months after I had this procedure done I began to bleed heavily. I am also anemic so I was told to see a blood disorder specialist. The blood disorder specialist only asked me what my gynecologist told me. I told him that he was pushing towards a hysterectomy, but I really didn't want to do it in case I wanted to have more children. He told me that I should have a hysterectomy. I went back to my Dr. and told him what the specialist said. I was not given any other options, and surely if given any I would've chosen one that did not make me sterile. Since then my husband at the time and I have divorced and I am getting remarried to a man who has not had any children, and I cannot afford a surrogate. I am glad that you have this site for people to be more aware. I hope that this doesn't happen to anyone else. I know how it makes me feel, and I appreciate that you would do make options available for other women who do want children.
